When working with messengers and browsers you might need to specify a profile information. Therefore there are appropriate drop down lists on some settings pages. PG automatically detects installed software and the profiles you use.
In most cases it is not convenient to launch PG and manually cleanup violations. To schedule PG, you should use schedule settings. After you enabled Auto Cleanup option, you need to specify frequency and your password. Cleanup process will be started automatically according to these settings.
As software always evolves, we provide you with auto-updates feature. You can schedule PG to check for updates automatically. This is important as you might upgrade your browser to a higher version, or install new instant messeger.
Working with History
Whenever you perform a scan or cleanup operation PG stores the operation results. To access this history data, you need to click History link on a side menu. History allows you to monitor your activity during some period. This statistical data can be useful for analyzing the changes of violations of your system. A history data item contains time stamp, number of found violations, and number of cleaned violations.
To clean the PG history, you need to click Clean History link.
How to Register PrivacyGuard Pro
To register PG you should click Register link in the upper menu. A window with text boxes for name and key will appear. You should enter name and key exactly as PG team provided to you. To obtain a name-key pair you need to purchase PG.
Note, PG software requires on line registration. I.e. make sure you are connected to the Internet before you apply a license.
PG respects the previous registration of the software. If you have registered PG once, and then trying to apply the license again, you will be prompted that a license already exists.
Updates
Any software evolves, so does PG. Because new products appear, and manufacturers of the existing software release new versions, one day you might want to update PG. the work on PG never stops: PG team always keeps track on the existing software.
There are 2 ways for you to update PG:
- you might schedule this process to take place automatically
- you can always click Update link in the upper menu to check for updates right away.
Update process works as follows: first it checks if the installed version of PG is up-to-date. If it does, it prompts a user and finishes. If it doesnt, PG updater shows a dialog with 2 links allowing to update right now or to see how much it will cost the user.
